Double Bonus Poker Strategy
What is Double Bonus Poker?
Double Bonus Poker offers a slight variation to the standard Jacks or Better video poker game. The rules are the same but the payouts differ in some very important ways.
First off, you are only paid 1 credit when making Two Pair. So a hand like this:
Pays the same as this hand:
Now, while getting paid only 1 credit for Two Pair is really bad for the player, Double Bonus Poker makes up for it by paying extra on Four of a Kinds. It also pays more on a Full House, Flush, and Straight!
With Jacks or Better, all Four of Kind’s pay the same whereas in Double Bonus Poker, you get paid more for four Aces or a Four of a Kind made up of 2’s, 3’s, or 4’s.
Compare the Double Bonus Poker paytable to the standard Jacks or Better paytable below.

Double Bonus Poker Strategies

Double Bonus Poker only pays 1 credit on Two Pair, but pays more on a Full House, Flush, and Straight when compared to Jacks or Better. Double Bonus Poker also pays a huge bonus when hitting four Aces so there are many changes to the basic strategy you would use when playing Jacks or Better.
If dealt an Ace with a suited King and Ten (two cards to the Royal Flush), in Jacks or Better you would hold the King and Ten and go for the Royal Flush. In Double Bonus Poker, you hold just the Ace because of the premium of hitting four Aces!
